ROMERO'S classic Day of the Dead is the ultimate zombie movie in our minds.

Although it has been widely documented that Day wasn't the film Romero originally intended to make, what turned-out proved to be an extremely dark and nihilistic take on the subject. And good sick entertainment.

The film contains some excellent acting performances and inventive gore effects. It could be said that Savini and Nicotero were at their darkest best for Day of the Dead.

Merit should go to Romero for the script, which is believable and has some great gore gags. Many of which have become legendary in many of the great behind the scenes documentaries that have been made.

You just can't help but feel that Romero and his crew hit the nail on the head with Day of the Dead.
